British Columbia: Rocky Mountaineer’s economic engine keeps chugging in Kamloops

Rocky Mountaineer expects its economic impact on Kamloops to significantly increase by 2022.

The rail tour company, which draws international tourists for a glimpse of Western Canada’s Rocky Mountains, is poised to double guest capacity with the purchase of new rail cars. The company estimates it generated between $47 and $49 million of spending in Kamloops last year, figures based on company and passenger spending.
