Two giants of the rail industry are working together to develop an all battery-electric locomotive.
This comes after BNSF Railway, a subsidiary of Warren Buffett‘s Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE: BRK.A), and the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District were preliminarily awarded a $22.6 million grant to pilot emission-reducing technologies in and around rail yards, the pair announced earlier this month.
