AMTRAK IG INVESTIGATION LEADS TO SETTLEMENT: Federal prosecutors settled with a Michigan electric company and two construction firms after Amtrak’s Inspector General found alleged bid rigging and inflated invoices for work the companies performed at Amtrak locations in three states. Inspector General Kevin Winters said in a statement he is “proud of the tenacity displayed” by the office’s investigative staff.
