Wisconsin: Eau Claire-St. Paul passenger rail could be closer to reality

Eau Claire (WQOW) — The dream for a passenger train from Eau Claire to the Twin Cities is still alive, as a recent partnership is working full steam ahead.

The West Central Wisconsin Rail Coalition is creating a private-public partnership with a Chicago rail developer, to offer a passenger rail service from Eau Claire to St. Paul, Minnesota. Officials told News 18 there would be four round trips per-day, offering an alternative way to travel for business or pleasure.
