U.S., New England: Amtrak Downeaster temporarily suspending service

Amtrak’s Downeaster rail service has been suspended through at least the end of April.

That suspension is effective Monday and remains in place until at least April 30, when Democratic Gov. Janet Mills’ stay-at-home order is set to expire, according to Natalie Bogart, marketing director for the Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority, which manages the service.
