It’s the end of the line for a rail service project that would have delivered thousands of people to the Coachella Valley for its April music festivals.
Riverside County traffic officials say they are no longer pursuing temporary train service from Los Angeles to Indio for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and its country music counterpartStagecoach. One factor was a failure to reach an agreement with Union Pacific Railroad to use its tracks, Riverside County Transportation Commission Deputy Executive Director John Standiford said.
