Wisconsin: La Crosse County Board supports expansion of Amtrak services

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – A potential solution to the transportation issues in Wisconsin.  There could soon be more Amtrak trains stopping in La Crosse.  A resolution calling for higher state and federal funding for passenger trains goes to the La Crosse County Board of Supervisors this week for a vote.

Currently, Amtrak makes two stops a day in La Crosse. One coming east, one coming west.  That train can hold 375 people. Amtrak said the ride from St. Paul to Chicago is one of the busiest routes.
