Virginia: Chesterfield County, advocates in Ettrick fight to save Amtrak train station

On the afternoon of July 2, while many of Chesterfield’s more than 340,000 residents were finalizing their Independence Day plans, a small group of motivated citizens gathered in a county conference room with staffers representing federal and state legislators and pleaded with them to help the village of Ettrick keep its Amtrak train station.

With the Federal Rail Administration preparing to announce its final decision on the future site of the Tri-Cities Multimodal Station, perhaps by the end of this month, the Concerned Citizens of Ettrick know they have no time to waste.
