U.S., Connecticut: Valley officials demand rail improvements, call out Hartford for neglect to Waterbury train line

NAUGATUCK — Valley municipal leaders said funding to increase service on the Waterbury train line is essential for economic development in that area.

“We feel very strongly the fate of the Valley depends on reliable train service,” said Waterbury Mayor Neil M. O’Leary, who also serves as the Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments chairman. “We are very loyal people in the Valley. It doesn’t matter if you are an R or a D. … You work for us and we will work for you.”
