WEST HAVEN — With ridership still down by 80%, the president of the Metro-North Commuter Railroad said Monday that it could take three or four years before ridership recovers back to pre-pandemic levels.
President Catherine Rinaldi said that consultants for Metro-North’s parent organization have been trying to forecast the future as the coronavirus pandemic continues and causes major changes in the workplace. Numerous workers in Manhattan and across the region have been working from home on an extended basis for the first time.
