Capitol Corridor is slashing service as ridership has dropped dramatically since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Northern California.
The train service, which normally operates from San Jose to Auburn, announced Wednesday that it’s reducing its service from 15 to five daily roundtrips between Sacramento and Oakland. Four trains per day will keep going from Oakland to the end of the line in San Jose. Trains serving Auburn, Rocklin and Roseville are canceled until further notice, but there will still be limited bus service there. The service is still evaluating its Sacramento-to-Reno bus route.
