U.S.: Amtrak Hiawatha line that stops in Glenview, Illinois gets funding from Wisconsin lawmakers to buy new rail cars

Amtrak’s Hiawatha line, which runs between Milwaukee and Chicago and makes a total of 14 stops each weekday in Glenview, is getting all new passenger train cars thanks to spending recently approved by the Wisconsin lawmakers.

The Wisconsin legislature’s Joint Finance Committee approved spending $13.2 million — including $8.2 million in borrowed funds — for six new passenger cars and three cab-coach cars.
