San Antonio, Texas: SunsetStation has been a transportation hub for more than a century

A century-old train station east of downtown was renovated during the late 1990s and, since it reopened in early 1999, has begun to pick up steam as an entertainment and retail complex.

The area now known as St. Paul Square was settled in the 1700s as a farming community that supported the Mission San Antonio de Valero, also known as the Alamo. After railroad service came to the area in the 1870s, residential and retail development there flourished.
