Riding the Brightline, America’s Train of the Future

It seems every business nowadays labels itself an industry “disrupter.” But in testing the Brightline, a gotta-ride-it-to-believe-it, inter-city train service that currently links Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach, we’ve got to say: This is the real deal. The privately funded, multi-billion-dollar Brightline project launched in July and serves up hyper-modern stations that look like they’ve been beamed over from Tokyo, tricked-out trains that run on clean biodiesel fuel, and extraordinary attention to detail (cold towel on arrival?!) you might expect from a great airline business class.

Plans are already in the works to expand Florida service to Orlando by 2021 and then to Tampa, and the company recently announced it will head west with an express train connecting Southern California and Las Vegas by 2022.
