Rail advocates in Ontario want government to consider transportation strategy – including passenger rail

Passenger rail advocates are hoping the provincial government take the time to develop a transportation strategy that will see passenger rail service return to Northern Ontario.

Last week it was announced that the Ontario government will provide $980,000 in funding to support Huron Central Railway operations for one year. During that time the government will have an ample opportunity to look at ways to develop a sustainable operation and ensure its due diligence is done.
