Pennsylvania Department Of Transportation to review passenger rail service between Pittsburgh and Altoona

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will review the potential for passenger rail service between Pittsburgh and Altoona.

Gov. Tom Wolf announced Friday the review of the Keystone West Corridor, where Amtrak offers once-a-day service on Amtrak between Pittsburgh and Harrisburg through Altoona. Wolf has directed PennDOT to look anew at the potential for service and other issues including potential and historical ridership plus how much it would cost for infrastructure.
