Napa Valley Wine Train ponders reviving long-dormant Rutherford, California depot

One of the Napa Valley Wine Train’s future additions Upvalley could be a survivor from the railroad’s distant past.

The Rutherford depot – nearly a century and a half old, and fallen into disrepair – would be transformed into a vineyard-facing café and a stopover for passengers enjoying local wines and fine cuisine on the Napa-to-St. Helena line, according to a proposal recently shared by Wine Train directors.
