India: Alert team averts train-elephant collision on killer Bengal tracks

Guwahati: Averting yet another major train-elephant collision incident, railway officials from the Northeastern Frontier Railway on Wednesday morning saved a wild jumbo from being killed in the alleged killer tracks between Alipur Duar and New Jalpaiguri route in West Bengal.

As per sources, the alert team of Alipur Duar-New Jailpaiguri passenger train on Wednesday morning pulled the emergency brake after spotting a wild tusker trying to cross the tracks in 71/7 kilometre between Alipur Duar and New Jalpaiguri railway stations.
