Ford’s Michigan Central Station office workers will still see and hear hundreds of thousands of train cars

The last train to ever pull out of Detroit’s Michigan Central Station was the No. 353 Amtrak passenger locomotive bound for Chicago at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 5, 1988.

A vacant eyesore for the next 30 years, the mammoth building was bought recently by Ford Motor Co. as the centerpiece for its vision of an autonomous vehicle research campus.
