ENFIELD — The Town Council unanimously voted on Oct. 7 to transfer $670,000 from the general fund into a separate fund for the development of a train platform in the Thompsonville section that would help attract businesses and keep millennials and baby boomers in the state by connecting Enfield to the CTrail Hartford Line.
Town Manager Christopher Bromson said the old casket building, located at 33 N. River St., would hopefully be the site of the platform, which he said has been 15 years in the making.
