SPRINGIFELD — More than 20,000 riders took advantage of free trips on the Hartford Line commuter rail trains on the first weekend of CTrail service from Springfield through Hartford to New Haven.
Service Saturday and Sunday was free — a way to introduce folks to the new service. The service requiring fares began Monday.
