Chinese city crowdfunds new train services to fill passenger demand

Rail authorities in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province are adding extra service based on demand by allowing passengers to group buy tickets for the trains they want.

By scanning a QR code or logging in through their Sina Weibo accounts, travelers can cast vote in the country’s first “crowdfunding” rail service, chinanews.com reported.
