Canada: Combat boots make trip to mark 75th anniversary

A pair of black combat boots were placed on a train at the Via Rail station in Kingston on Saturday as part of a special trackside ceremony.

A symbol of the many young Canadians who boarded trains and headed to the front during the Second World War, the boots will make their way by train to Halifax, where they will be part of a national ceremony to mark the 75th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy.
