Amtrak evasive months after government auditor recommends Delaware job cuts

Delaware is more dependent on Amtrak – for both jobs and transportation – than most states.

Yet, last spring the federal inspector general for the passenger rail company reported that Amtrak should reduce its number of train mechanics in Delaware, claiming it could save $3 million a year by cutting the “excess” staff.
