Amtrak begins to spend windfall from Chicago Union Station deal

Congestion-weary commuters over the weekend got the first peek at what Amtrak is going to do with the windfall it will receive from pending development plans for the Union Station area. And while a lot more is needed, it’s a start.

Officials announced the passenger rail service will spend several million dollars opening a new station entrance on Clinton Street, on the west side of the structure.
