37 congressional reps join effort to help Amtrak call-center employees in Riverside, California

Thirty-seven members of California’s congressional delegation have agreed to sign a letter urging Amtrak to alter the planned closure of its Riverside reservation center, union employees learned Thursday.

Leaders of the Transportation Communications Union have been marshaling political support for Amtrak employees in Riverside since the rail company announced last month it would close the call center Jan. 18. News of the bipartisan letter was shared Wednesday morning at a rally in front of Riverside’s City Hall.
